Why Little and Often Wins the race in Aesthetic Medicine

Why Little and Often Wins the race in Aesthetic Medicine

One of the idiosyncrasies of human nature…. once someone has made the decision to seek treatment to achieve their goals, many are looking for immediate and dramatic transformations. Whilst instant results can be achieved, the best long-term outcomes are achieved by employing a lifestyle of ‘little and often’.

Rozina is one of London’s leading aesthetic surgeons and in this piece, she outlines why gradual enhancements, achieved through regular treatments over the course of time, deliver more sustainable, more natural, and ultimately more satisfying results.

I am a great believer that for aesthetic improvement, a little and often, is the best way to invest in yourself and one you will most likely sustain.

Usually when you make an investment, be it financial or educational, you don't get to see a return on your investment for several years, or even decades. If you invest in yourself however, with regular therapeutic skincare, regular injectables, peels, technologies, or therapeutic facials even, you get to experience the benefits in real time and cumulatively down the line.

The expert combination of aesthetic treatments that an expert can guide you with, will further give you additional synergistic benefits. For example, if you regularly have salicylic acid peel, this not only gives you clearer exfoliated skin, but your skincare products are better absorbed into the skin, meaning you use less of them, and they are able to penetrate deeper through your skin. With time skin becomes less oily, fine lines and wrinkles soften and outbreaks and spots are less likely. You don’t get that benefit from one treatment; you get that benefit from a managed course; so, regularity and frequency matter to make it a worthwhile investment.

Given the ultimate goal with aesthetic improvement is to enhance appearance while maintaining a natural look, drastic transformations performed too quickly can result in an exaggerated or incongruous appearance. A gradual approach allows for a gentler integration with the body's natural processes, maximising the effectiveness of treatments. Such step wise incremental improvements help to sustain a more subtle enhancement that integrates seamlessly with your natural features, your lifestyle, and your finances. Less is definitely more.

As with any long-term venture, getting the guidance of an expert ensures you get the greatest return on your investment.

All the products are out there, so is all the information, but crucially, all the noise and competition lead to information overload and confusion. I’ve got a passion for faces, I’ve got a passion for people, so it's a pleasure to work with a client to advise on what treatments will deliver what results, on what timescale and how to best combine products, treatments, and technologies to get the greatest benefit.

This is why the consultation is key. Otherwise, you’re out there alone in the wild west where everything works, and nothing works!

My role is to understand what someone is trying to achieve, then work with my client to get them there. Timescale, preferences, costs are determined by the client, I guide on what, when and why. My facial rejuvenation clients are invariably juggling time and travel commitments with work and family, so I aim to create a haven of luxury wellness, where their appearance and well-being is the central pillar, and we can go into detail. It’s not just relaxing, it's fun, it’s creative, it's inspirational.

Over the years, I’ve learnt that it’s good to make a plan over the course of a few months if you’re working towards a deadline or special event (wedding/anniversary/holiday) or a yearlong programme incorporating all the modalities, then we set up a regular appointments and work to the programme. Skincare, sleep, and nutrition happens at home, injectables, technologies and feel-good facials happen in clinic. No one is coming back if it’s not fun or it doesn’t work- so those are my two goals- make a difference, make it worthwhile.

''I knew I had chosen the right place to come. I felt looked after by Rozina and her team, treated as a priority at all times throughout my journey. I felt that my treatment was tailored to my own personal needs and to a really high standard.. and the results are even better than I thought could be a reality for me '     Consultation Patient

Rozina Ali Clinic has set up various subscription programmes and you can mix/match them to get what you need in the most effective and efficient time scale. I have patients I see weekly for some RF treatments, monthly for facials or peels then 3 monthly for injectables. If this is something you might be interested in, please get in touch with the practice.

Aesthetic enhancements are not merely about physical appearance, they’re about the even more important journey towards increased self-confidence and psychological wellbeing. By adopting a ‘little and often’ approach, individuals can take control and use each incremental improvement as a building block on the road towards the person they are creating. Honestly, it’s exactly as nature intended.
