As a breast specialist, it’s my passion and vocation to closely analyse and scrutinise breasts. Size, symmetry, position and volume are all important, but to me the most important (and sadly too often neglected aspect) is the shape. It’s the shape of a breast, its curves and its slopes that make it such an object of desire, a gorgeous, sexy, attractive addition to any chest. A 3-D curve that compliments your waist and hips. A curve that enhances your femininity. I applaud every woman who sashays into a room and owns it because she knows exactly what power she wields.

Volume in the wrong places (upper pole) pushes the nipple down and makes the breast look droopy and old. Breasts positioned too laterally on the side of the chest leaving a huge gap in between are unnatural and strange. Breasts that are too big, cheapen the look and just add physical weight and emotional baggage.

I think that’s what some people forget when they look to augment a breast. It’s not only about augmenting size, it’s about proportion and it’s not about creating a dome, it’s about the correct curves – the slope of the upper pole and the fullness of the lower pole with the nipple facing upwards and outwards on the tip of the breast. Enhancing the breast, not just enlarging it.

Too many times I see people who have had breast augmentation and are unhappy with the results but don’t understand why….they’ve been taught that size is everything and if they are bigger, they must be better. Luckily enough breast can be camouflaged, padded or dressed to look acceptable in bra or clothes, but the real asset is the naked breast. That’s where true sexual power lies!

Breasts are secondary sexual organs, they are designed to attract a mate (and feed subsequent child!) but can only achieve that if they please YOU and make you feel attractive.

Thankfully, armed with a good understanding of natural curves and skills in using some of the new most amazing shaped implants or using smaller round implants and some smart lipofilling l relish being able to recreate shapely beautiful natural-looking breasts that anyone would be proud to flaunt. Even Mother Nature herself.

That’s why my clients celebrate the beauty of their breasts and proudly refer to themselves as the ‘beautiful’ breasts brigade.
